Antony Mills
Instructor l Restorative, Yin
Antony started his yoga journey in 2015. Seeking a way to create a refuge from the corporate world, he discovered a yoga studio near his home where he began taking classes. It started with a class or two each week, and shortly thereafter he was a dedicated student, practicing daily. In 2017, an influential yogi suggested he explore teaching, and as a result, Antony attended a Yin and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) training with Jo Phee. He has been teaching regularly ever since at several local yoga studios.
Antony's personal practice and teaching style combines both Yin and Restorative aspects, always adhering to the basic principle of functionality, consistently asking 'how do I feel' rather than 'how do I look'. He follows Paul Grilley’s 14-10-7 method which focuses on 14 skeletal movements controlled by 10 muscle groups using 7 poses. His classes include meditation, pranayama, and an occasional sound bath. He also calls upon his TCM training to help students adjust to seasonal changes using meridian nidra and myofascial release techniques.
Antony grew up on the coast and lives with his wife and three children in El Granada. He enjoys volunteering for community groups, advocating for animals, and can frequently be found paddle boarding or hiking and biking the local trails of our beautiful coastside.
